PINK OCTOBER – ARTICLE

This past weekend the annual  girls shootout “Pink October” was hosted at Desoto Recreational Center by The SwinCity League. Over 15 teams came out to showcase their talent. A lot of sweat, tears and passion were displayed. And to top it off there was commentary from one of Dallas’s newest MC’s and SwinCity’s very own “The Big General “. Not only was this for the community, but also a tribute to Tiffany Jackson for her fight against breast cancer and others who have been affected by this life threatening disease.

Senior Jasmine Jackson stated “I really enjoyed The Swin City Tournament not just this year, but last year too, it’s always fun to look forward to it and the competition is always great” Jackson will be attending Grambling State University after this year.

We got a chance to speak with newcomer and freshman Camille Williams of Saginaw High School  “at Pink October I had a lot of fun. It is always a great experience to have a DJ and custom uniforms, and a mic guy (sorry don’t know what you call him) But I also think we as a team grew and learned a lot. Skill is one thing, but to know how and when to use it is another”

We want to send a special Thank you To Desoto Mayor Rachel Proctor for Making a Grand appearance and supporting SwinCity League. On Behalf of the SwinCity League, we want to Thank each and every Person who Came to Pink October we couldn’t have done it without your support. We Are All about giving back to the community and putting on a great show while doing so. Stay tuned for more SwinCity Events This October and The rest of the year.
